  1. I’ve installed a 2 panel (30 watts) solar power Station, inverter, charge regulator with 2 batteries as my own power station. I’m going to “rechargeable batteries only”. During the day, I can charge up to 8 batteries at once and have use of a radio all day.
Than at night I’ve got lights: low wattage LED bulbs and still have access to a radio for listening or staying in touch with my close friends. We’ve all gone to older CB units. They’re cheap, easy to fix or tune and in an EMP event, should still work. And we have a real radio tech in our group.

    • cb radios are not emp proof they have electronics in them and chips that will burn up in an emp event

    • also forgot to mention your inverter is susceptible to emp as well so no solar power if that gets hit.

  2. Don’t need no stinkin’ radios. Got EMP proof system of horse manure powered smoke signals. Works for the deaf, dumb and blind folks ’cause you can smell the signals!

Eagle 1: fes up is right. Your best bet is:
    1. Set up a charging station on a timer. Chargers wear out.
    2. If you have one radio get another and program them to the same freq.s
    3. Put your second radio, charger and inverter into a Faraday Trash Can.
Don’t put it’s battery in the Faraday Trash Can.
    4. If you can get a roll up PV put it into the Faraday Trash Can
    5. When the DUNG HITS THE FAN; WAITE FOR A DAY TO MAKE SURE THAT THE DUNG HAS HIT THE FAN BEFORE TAKING ALL OF THE GOOD STUFF OUT OF THE FARADAY CAGE. HOWEVER IF YOUR RADIO GETS FRIED YOU KNOW IT’S TIME TO TAKE OUT THE “TOYS”.
