  1. Keep up the good work. What about switching to frequency hopping radio makes it more difficult for Spooks, Feds, Police to inmtercept, most do not have gear to do it.

  2. Thank you for the full listing downloads for the baofang’s. Our iii% team is using them in the tac com’s. The business ch’s and mur’s are working grate better then frs gmr’s. Jake team leader made some wallet chanel cards with 333 plan on back. We the people. Molon labe

  3. If you use chirp there are databases you can view and download directly from the web then to your baofeng radidio.

  4. this iii% threepers patriot thanks you

  5. No ham license? No problem.

    • I trust this is a fairly secure site. where would these CHIRP channels be for downloading . Presently I have an iCom portable Radio Duel Band. transceiver . D-Star 4100 any assistance would be appreciated

  6. Christopher Kuehl

My wife and I are new prepers trying to make sure our family of 6 is ready for anything. We just bought a baofeng uv-5rtp but we know nothing about how to use it. Furthermore, with our crazy schedules (4 kids, full-time jobs, and myself in college full-time) we dont have the time to learn ourselves, and we fear time may be getting short. Do we just load the CHIRP software onto the radio with the prepper frequencies and its ready to go? Do we have to reset the radio to factory first? Any help would be much appreciated

  7. Christopher Kuehl

I have a baofeng uv-5rtp. We’ve tried loading the chirp software and everything on to it using the option for the uv5r, but every time we do, we get an error message saying it’s not the right model. However, there is no option for the uv-5rtp. What do I do?

    • You download chirp to your comp then you need a lead from the comp to the radio…you can get the leads from amazon

  8. Christopher Kuehl

We cant load the CHIRP software cause it wont recognize the model. We have the baofeng uv-5rtp, butt that is the one model number that is not listed. It has the uv5r in every other type but TP. Can anybody help us?

  9. Christopher Kuehl

We recently purchased the uv-5rtp. We’ve been trying to load the chirp software onto it but we keep getting an error message saying the wrong model has been entered. However the only option we can find is for the uv5r, we can find no option for the uv-5rtp. Can anyone please help us with this issue

    • UV-5RTP is fairly new. Select the BF-F8HP in chirp.
      Download from radio first.
Then load the *CSV file into chirp and copy all the channels over the downloaded list, then upload to radio.
Go to one of the Chirp forums or Baofeng forums, or a Youtube tutorial for more info.

      • Christopher Kuehl

Thank you very much, that’s exactly what the problem was! Once we got that we were able to load the chirp software and the Patriot frequency directory right onto the radio. I hope you don’t mind confirming a couple things for me though. First, is this directory current? Second, should I be able to pick up Transmissions from around the country on the Patriot Nationwide Channel?

        • Yes, the frequency list is current, as of mid-2016.
Yes, if your radio is within range of another radio that is transmitting on the channel, you should be able to pick up those transmissions.

  10. looking at the baofeng uv-5R image file, you have all the power settings placed on high. Now in a SHTF scenario, this wont matter but for now, FRS only frequencies according to the FCC regulations can only operate at half a watt (0.5 watt) of power. GMRS can operate at 5 Watts but MURS can only operate at 2 Watts MAX. Now I understand that in a SHTF scenario it wont matter, but what people have to understand is that if they download this image file and use it as is right now, not saying that anything would happen but it could and the FCC does still regulate these frequencies. You at least should set the power of your radio accordingly. Also know that your supposed to be using FCC certified Radios and of course this would rule out any BAOFENG radio. Your also supposed to be using radios with fixed antennas for FRS, GMRS and MURS. As a Ham Radio it doesn’t matter. I mention this because I know somewhere right now there is a patriot testing out his radio and have not even taken the time to read up on all the frequencies and FCC regulations. He is just trusting this image file the way it sits and is loading it up into his Baofeng radio and getting ready to head off to the hills and test his performance. This Image file is perfect the way it is in a Martial Law, Civil War, World War 3 or any other major SHTF scenario, I just had to through it out there that its not set up according to the FCC regulations. I have loaded this up in chirp to see that all the power settings are set on HIGH.

    • Baofeng now has a part 95 certified radio (GMRS-V1 model). FRS requires fixed antennas. GMRS does not. MURS does not.

Also I used the files from this site and the power settings were correct.

  11. I am utterly amazed that you’ve given away all of your frequencies in a public venue, such that you’ve made it simple for those that wish to harm you to listen in on your unsecure transmissions. Unless you are using some sort of strong cryptography for messaging, anything you say on the air is ripe for the picking by those that might not have your best interests at heart. I would seriously begin thinking about adopting some form of communications security methods. And remember, every radio transmitter has a unique electronic signature, like a human fingerprint, and can also give away your location in short order, through the use of direction finding techniques. Those electronic signatures can be saved to computers and placed in databases which are searchable, linking your radios to an event, group, or even an individual. It’s too bad that nobody did any serious research into what kind of electronic intelligence collection goes on. As a matter of fact, any device that emits an RF signal (radio frequency), intentionally or unintentionally, can and will be exploited by the enemy. That means you will quickly be rounded up and placed in a federal prison, or worse off, dead. Why do you think various enemies of this great country often practice radio silence? It’s because radio transmissions can be homed in on, which shortly thereafter leads to the sky falling in on their heads (read Cruise Missles, Mini-guns, Artillery, Multiple Launch Rocket Systems, and various types of deadly aircraft… Drones.. Remember them?? Silent and deadly. Don’t be on the receiving end). Do not let your communications devices lead to your early demise. If you value your life and liberty, get smart about the pros and cons of ALL electronic devices. They are all exploitable. When used in a proper manner they can serve you well and keep you alive. Just remember that any and all electronic devices can and will be exploited by the enemy, both foreign and domestic. Nothing is totally secure, period. Do not lull yourself into a false sense of security in that your communications are not being monitored and exploited. Always assume that they are and you will most likely be correct more often than not.

  12. Still checking back weekly for new posts RM. If you’re entertaining ideas for new blog topics, how about one to elaborate on going unnoticed as a bootlegger? Mimicking business/leased radio traffic in the industrial/business band for example. I’d appreciate hearing your thoughts and recommendations on that topic anyway.

  13. copy, understand

  29. An excellent resource. Thank you for your contribution.

  30. free speech will never be removed as long as we got a radio net work in place ….

  31. Hello, let me address certain misconception. 1) power levels, legal use of Baofeng UV-5r and such. 12 year old airsofter/paintballer have been using UV-5rs for years; There are no FCC G-force, saying “Freeze put that illegal radio on the deck.”. 2) In a grid down SHTF shituation no one is going to triangulate your position; foxhunting is as it is called is hard as hell and time consuming.

  32. What a bunch of toy soldier clowns. Grow up.

  33. We are using this frequency list for our circle of prep.
